Gravel and Sand Make a Sturdy Mountain

PADANG PANJANG, kiprahkita.net - The mountains that appear large, solid, and strong are actually composed of a collection of pebbles, rocks, and sand. They unite to become strong.

"Muslims must unite. All elements must come together in the spirit of brotherhood. Our faith has already united us. If this unity is realized, then Muslims will become strong, as solid as that mountain," said Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmad Al-Khotib Al-Zubaidy on Saturday (July 6) at the Taqwa Muhammadiyah Kauman Mosque, Padang Panjang.

The Syrian sheikh made this statement while delivering a sermon to welcome the New Year 1 Muharram 1446 Hijri, which was attended by hundreds of leaders, employees, students, and members of Muhammadiyah in the Padang Panjang Batipuh X Koto (Pabasko) region.

Also present on the occasion were the entire leadership of the Pabasko Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership (PDM), the director of the Kauman Islamic Boarding School Dr. Derliana and her staff, heads of Muhammadiyah schools in the Pabasko region, and new students of the Kauman Islamic Boarding School.

"Innal jibāla minal hasa. Indeed, mountains are made of pebbles. This illustrates how something big and strong is made up of small, simple things. Great achievements are often built from small, consistent efforts," he said.

According to the guest lecturer at the Kauman Islamic Boarding School, the momentum of the Hijri New Year should be seen as a special time to improve competence, so that progress can be achieved.

He also praised the Persyarikatan Muhammadiyah for consistently carrying out the da'wah movement, particularly in advancing education.

According to him, advancing the community must be done through knowledge. "Increasing knowledge knows no time limit. May knowledge illuminate the members of Muhammadiyah," he conveyed, delivering his sermon in Arabic, accompanied by Ustadz Emri Agus, who translated it into Indonesian.

In his speech while officially opening the event, PDM Pabasko Chairman Musriadi Musanif emphasized that Muhammadiyah educational institutions must continuously innovate and encourage creativity.

"Muhammadiyah schools should not be ordinary. Make leaps towards progress. Learn from advanced Muhammadiyah educational institutions. The shawl I am wearing now was given by the Muhammadiyah Branch Leadership of Kebayoran Baru. This PCM is excellent in advancing education," said Musriadi.

He also recounted how the Li-Bend School, managed by Pimpinan Cabang Muhammadiyah (PCM) Kebayoran Baru, made extraordinary leaps, resulting in more than 2,600 students.

"Why do parents want to enroll their children in the Muhammadiyah Li-Bend School? The entrance fee is not cheap. But parents compete to enroll their children there, whether for elementary, junior high, senior high, or vocational school. There must be something excellent there. This is what we must emulate," he said.

The senior journalist reminded that if the leadership and management of Muhammadiyah educational institutions are mediocre, they will undoubtedly fall behind. If this happens, the school will become fragile and die. "We must not let Muhammadiyah schools die under our watch," he warned.

On that occasion, Musriadi also launched the 200 Free KTAM Celebration. This program targets cadres, members, and sympathizers of Muhammadiyah in the Pabasko area who do not yet have a membership card.

Additionally, PDM Pabasko will provide incentive funds for all PCMs in Pabasko to mobilize and strengthen branches. "Hopefully, we can all have the same intention and determination to advance Muhammadiyah, not the opposite, weakening Muhammadiyah in our hands," he said.(release)
