PADANG, kiprahkita.net - In celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, Acting Mayor of Padang Andree Algamar has urged residents to hoist the red and white national flag throughout August.
"We urge all residents to raise the red and white flag from August 1 to August 31 in their respective areas," Andree said on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
The directive to fly the national flag for the entire month is outlined in Circular Letter No. 200.1.508/SB/Kesbangpol-Pdg/2024 regarding Participation in Celebrating the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, signed on July 30, 2024.
In addition to encouraging residents to raise the flag, all institutions and offices are advised to decorate their premises with decorations, banners, posters, billboards, and other ornaments.
These decorations should carry the theme "New Archipelago, Advanced Indonesia," and logos can be downloaded from the website www.setneg.go.id.
"We also invite residents to organize and participate in various activities to enliven the celebration of the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia to enhance nationalism, the spirit of struggle, and love for the homeland," Andree urged.
Furthermore, on August 17, all residents are required to halt all activities from 10:17 AM to 10:20 AM. During these three minutes, citizens should stand at attention while the national anthem, "Indonesia Raya," is played.
"Residents are required to stop all activities, except for those involved in activities that could endanger themselves or others if halted," said the Acting Mayor of Padang.(kominfo pdg)
