PADANG PANJANG, kiprahkita.net - MTsN Padang Panjang successfully closed their final Pool C match in the Inter-School Soccer Tournament for Junior High Schools with a decisive 6-0 win against SMP IT Juara at Khatib Sulaiman Bancahlaweh Stadium on Wednesday (31/7/2024).
MTsN, already assured of a place in the quarterfinals, dominated the match from the start. Their aggressive play aimed to secure the top spot in the group by overcoming a seven-goal deficit against SMPN 1.
In the first half, MTsN struggled to break through the tight defense of SMP IT Juara. Several dangerous opportunities were thwarted by the impressive performance of the opposing goalkeeper.
MTsN's breakthrough came in the middle of the first half. A handball by an SMP IT player in the penalty box led to a penalty kick awarded by referee Bachtiar Efendi. Faros Algazi, known as Acong, calmly converted the penalty, sending the ball to the bottom right corner of the net, out of the goalkeeper's reach.
Five minutes later, MTsN extended their lead to 2-0. Ahmad Musadiq capitalized on a corner kick with a header directed to the left side of the goal, concluding the first half with a comfortable advantage.
Midway through the second half, referee Bachtiar awarded another penalty. However, SMP IT Juara's goalkeeper, Zaki, showcased his skills by saving the shot aimed at the right side of the goal.
Shortly after the missed penalty, Ahmad Musadiq struck a powerful shot, increasing MTsN's lead to 3-0. Minutes later, Acong scored again with a strong shot, making it 4-0.
In the final minutes of the second half, MTsN continued to press SMP IT's defense. Acong completed his hat-trick with a free kick from outside the penalty box, which the goalkeeper couldn't save, securing his position as the temporary top scorer of the Junior High School League.
Not wanting to be left out, substitute player Labib sealed MTsN's perfect victory with a goal in the dying moments of the match, making it 6-0.
Despite the impressive win, MTsN finished as the group runner-up in the final standings, with SMP N 1 retaining the top spot in Pool C due to a superior goal difference.(kominfo pdp)
