PEKANBARU, kiprahkita.net - Riau Police Chief Irjen Pol Mohammad Iqbal has announced that the upcoming Riau Bhayangkara Run (RBR) 2024, scheduled for July 14, will be held in a professional manner.
This event is a special offering from the Riau Police to the community in celebration of the 78th Bhayangkara Day.
"Riau Bhayangkara Run 2024 is not just a running event; it's not only about pursuing achievements and experiences. Beyond that, we want to bring joy to the people of Riau," said Iqbal.
With a participant count reaching 10,000, the event is expected to have a positive impact on the economy, including benefiting street vendors around the event location.
Iqbal emphasized that the police, especially the Riau Police, aim to play a greater role in supporting the government to boost the economy through this event.
"We also want to support the government, particularly in Riau, to continuously boost the economy through events like this," he explained.
The event will also feature top band Armada, who will entertain participants and attendees with their popular hit 'Pergi Pagi Pulang Pagi.'
Registration for the Riau Bhayangkara Run 2024 closed on Thursday (27/6/2024) with 10,000 participants.
Irjen Iqbal expressed his gratitude for the high enthusiasm from the community towards the event.
"Thank you, as we have reached 10,000 participants, the registration is officially closed," said Irjen Iqbal.
The Riau Police Chief reminded the committee and all parties involved to organize this event well and to the maximum extent. He stressed the importance of thorough preparations to ensure there are no mistakes during the event.
"I request that preparations are carried out to the maximum. All PICs and responsible parties must work well," emphasized Iqbal.
Riau Bhayangkara Run 2024 will feature three running categories:
- 5-kilometer route: Starting from the Riau Governor's Office towards Rumbai, turning at U-Turn Mall Pekanbaru, heading back to Tugu Zapin, and finishing at the Governor's Office.
- 10-kilometer route: Starting towards Rumbai, crossing the Siak IV Bridge, turning at U-Turn Rumah Makan Mentawai, heading back to Tugu Zapin, and finishing at the Governor's Office.
- 21-kilometer half marathon route: Starting towards Rumbai, crossing the Siak IV Bridge, turning at the end of Jalan Sudirman, heading back to Tugu Zapin, passing the flyovers at Nangka and Harapan Raya, turning at Traffic Light Simpang Tiga Bandara, and finishing at the Governor's Office.
Irjen Iqbal hopes the event will not only be a major sporting event but also advance the economy and promote the potential of Riau, particularly Pekanbaru City.
"Running is not just a hobby; it has become a lifestyle for many people today, so we are providing a platform for runners through the Riau Bhayangkara Run," explained Iqbal.
The event preparations are being finalized by the Riau Police in collaboration with the committee, supported by the local government and other relevant agencies.(infopublik.id)
