Tanah Datar Committed to Maintaining Informative Status

Tanah Datar, kiprahkita.net - The Department of Communication and Informatics (Diskominfo) of Tanah Datar Regency held a Coordination Meeting (Rakor) among Information and Documentation Management Officials (PPID) on Monday, July 29, 2024.

This meeting aimed to maintain Tanah Datar's status as an informative region and to enhance information services and coordination among PPIDs.

Lovely Harman, the chairperson of the Rakor and also the Secretary of Diskominfo Tanah Datar, stated that this meeting is crucial to ensure the smooth flow of information in Tanah Datar Regency.

"In addition, this meeting also aims to improve information services and coordination among PPIDs," said Lovely.

Lovely emphasized that the Tanah Datar Regency Government pays great attention to information transparency by managing the regional government's website, social media, and mass media, including print, electronic, and digital media.

In the Rakor, Diskominfo invited speakers from the West Sumatra Information Commission and Diskominfo Tanah Datar to provide the participants with deeper insights into information management.

"It is hoped that Rakor participants as information managers can gain more knowledge regarding PPID management," said Lovely.

Iqbal Ramadi Payana, the Secretary of Tanah Datar Regency who also serves as the main PPID supervisor, stated that every provincial and regency/city government is required to have a PPID as mandated by Law Number 14 of 2008 on Public Information Disclosure.

"In response to this, the Tanah Datar Regency Government has appointed Information and Documentation Management Officials (PPID) following the Regent's Decree No. 555/116/Kominfo-2024 dated March 19, 2024, concerning the amendment of the Regent's Decree No. 555/142/Kominfo-2023 dated March 14, 2023, on the formation of information and documentation service managers in the Tanah Datar Regency," said Iqbal.

Iqbal added that one of the PPID's duties is to provide public information to information requesters. With the presence of PPIDs, it is hoped that the implementation of the public information disclosure law can run effectively and the public's right to quality information can be fulfilled.

Furthermore, Iqbal mentioned that information services must be carried out based on the principles of transparency, accountability, conditionality, participation, and equality of rights.

"These five principles are the foundation for every public official in serving the community who needs information. It is undeniable that with information transparency, the public becomes more active and participates in monitoring the administration of government. This is the basis for information and documentation management officials to be able to provide the information requested by the public," he explained. (edi)
