PADANG, kiprahkita.net - The Padang City Government warmly welcomed the arrival of the National Market Certification Evaluation Team from the Certification Agency of the Directorate of Standardization and Quality Control, Ministry of Trade (Kemendag).
The team visited to assess, inspect facilities and infrastructure, and audit the management system documentation for Tanah Kongsi Market located in Kampung Pondok Village, Padang Barat District, Padang City, West Sumatra Province (Sumbar).
"We are very pleased to have you here to audit Tanah Kongsi Market. We hope that Tanah Kongsi Market will achieve the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) certification," said Acting Mayor of Padang, Andree Algamar, while hosting the independent auditors and representatives from Kemendag RI at the Official Residence of the Mayor of Padang on Tuesday (July 23, 2024).
Meanwhile, Head of the Padang City Trade Office, Syahendri Barkah, added that the application for Tanah Kongsi Market to achieve the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 8152:2021 certification from LSPro-PPMB and Kemendag RI has met all the requirements.
"Alhamdulillah, all 56 SNI parameters have been fulfilled, reaching 100 percent. Tanah Kongsi Market is the second market in Padang City that we have proposed for SNI certification. Previously, Alai Market successfully achieved SNI certification," he explained.
Syahendri stated that the implementation of SNI for Tanah Kongsi Market benefits both traders and consumers. SNI emphasizes cleanliness, health, safety, and comfort.
"Consumers will experience a clean, healthy, comfortable, and well-regulated market. Meanwhile, traders will have a more comfortable and safe selling environment with better turnover," he said.
The Head of the Audit Team, Isdamawarty, mentioned that they would audit Tanah Kongsi Market from July 24-25, 2024.
"The audit results will be announced in the coming months. We congratulate Tanah Kongsi Market on soon becoming an SNI-certified market. We hope this will have a positive impact on the market in the future," he noted.(infopublik.id)
