The 3rd Keroncong Svaranusa, Provides Real Impact for Artists and Society

– The government is holding the Keroncong Svaranusa 2024 event, Saturday (29/6), at the Purwokerto Teratai Tower Complex, Banyumas Regency, Central Java.

 

Keroncong Svaranusa 2024 is the third time it has been held, starting from Tegal Regency and carrying the theme Bhinneka Tunggal Irama, Ora Keroncong Ora Kepenak. This event was held in collaboration with the Banyumas Regency Government and the Svara Irama Nusantara Foundation.

 

Secretary of the Directorate General of Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Fitra Arda, said that as a cultural heritage, society must preserve and develop keroncong music.

 

"We should protect Keroncong as a cultural heritage together, between the government and the community, amidst the onslaught of very rapid modernization. "Our hope is that keroncong can grow and develop, be loved and appreciated by the wider community so that we can find keroncong music, enjoy it and host it in our own country," said Fitra in Banyumas, Saturday (29/6).

 

Meanwhile, the Acting (Pj.) Regent of Banyumas, Hanung Cahyo Saputro, expressed his gratitude for the successful implementation of Keroncong Svaranusa 2024 in his area. Hanung said that national scale performances such as Keroncong Svaranusa could become an economic and social driver for the Banyumas community.

 

“Thank you for believing in our city to be the venue for a big stage like this. Our cultural community is certainly enthusiastic to see how a luxurious orchestral performance will be placed in an open space, integrated with the popular night market. "Of course this is not only a spectacle, but also a driving force for the progress of Bayumas," said Hanung.

 

Fajri Sinaga, orchestra player at Keroncong Svaranusa 2024, said that this activity can explore the potential of local communities and can also develop musuk keroncong which is traditional music so that it can be known abroad.

 

One of the 2024 Keroncong Svaranusa music arrangers, Wahyudin Maulana Dwi Ansar, said that this activity could foster the interest of the younger generation in the future of keroncong music. He hopes that in the future more spectacular keroncong music events can be held.

 

Onik, one of the people who attended Keroncong Svaranusa 2024, expressed his admiration for this activity because it displayed extraordinary rhythmic harmonization between keroncong and modern music.

 

"It was very good to witness the collaboration between modern music, ambyar and keroncong, and then the enthusiastic Banyumas residents gave a sense of pride. "Then the concept of the event was also grandly presented at the Purwokerto Viewing Tower as a symbol of the city, hopefully Keroncong Svaranusa will be here again," said Reza.

 

Other people who were also present, Ristiawati said, Keroncong Svaranusa 2024 gave a very interesting special impression. Ristiawati hopes that the younger generation will love keroncong music even more and preserve it as traditional music.

 

As many as 30 musicians from various regions on the island of Java carried out quarantine for three days in Baturaden, Banyumas. They were given training to mix tunes and lyrics, so they succeeded in recording eight new songs in the original keroncong genre performed by young generation musicians and vocalists.

 

A number of keroncong maestros also graced the 2024 Keroncong Svaranusa, including Tuti Maryati, Fajar Sopsan, Ndarboy Genk, accompanied by a keroncong orchestra led by Composer Puput Pramuditya.

 

Keroncong Svaranusa is one of the efforts of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology to translate the mandate of Law Number 5 of 2017 concerning the Advancement of Culture, one of the aims of which is to preserve the nation's cultural heritage. (ni)
