TANAH DATAR - The Indonesia Performance Syndicate Community (IPSC) presented a performance titled Legaran Svarnadvipa, marking the culmination of the creation of innovative creative works under the Dana Indonesia, program by the Directorate General of Culture, Kemendikbud Ristek RI.
The event took place at Lapangan Cindua Mato Batusangkar, West Sumatra, on Saturday (29/6/2024).
During the opening ceremony, Tanah Datar Regent Eka Putra, expressed his hope that the event would convey the spirit of revival during the recovery period following the natural disasters of flash floods and landslides in Luhak Nan Tuo.
"We believe that with the spirit of togetherness, we can rise to restore Tanah Datar to its former state. God willing, we will recover faster and continue building to improve the welfare of the community," said Regent.
Furthermore, Regent Eka extended his gratitude and appreciation to all parties involved in the success of the contemporary theater performance.
"We express our gratitude and appreciation to everyone involved in this event. Hopefully, through this performance, the younger generation will be encouraged to take part in other cultural preservation activities," added Putra.
Meanwhile, the Head of the West Sumatra Cultural Office, Jefrinal Arifin, SH. M.Si., stated that the Provincial Government supports various forms of cultural and artistic activities.
He also expressed his hope that the preservation of culture and arts will continue to thrive in West Sumatra.
"We invite all citizens to support this event, which serves as a tangible effort to promote culture and the arts in West Sumatra," he said.
On the same occasion, the director of the contemporary performance Legaran Svarnadvipa, Wendy HS, explained that the performance reflects the natural wealth of the region, presented artistically in contemporary theater.
"This performance narrates the richness of nature in an artistic manner. We invite you to enjoy the entire process that has been carried out continuously. Thank you for the support from various parties, making this performance possible," he said.(*/mus)
