NEW DELHI, kiprahkita.net - The Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Padangpanjang, once again showcased its excellence on the international stage with a stunning performance at the 17th Asia Pacific Bond (APB) for Theatre School Festival.
The prestigious event, held at the National School of Drama in New Delhi, India, brought together eight delegations from various Asia-Pacific countries and took place from August 13, 2024.
ISI Padangpanjang’s delegation included the Rector, two Theatre Arts students, two Dance Arts students, a Theatre Arts lecturer, and the Coordinator of the International Affairs Center.
They actively participated in various festival activities, including the Directors' Meeting, Students' Meeting, Workshops, and Student Performances.
During the Directors' Meeting, university leaders from different countries discussed numerous collaboration opportunities among APB members.
This forum served as a strategic platform for ISI Padangpanjang to expand its academic and artistic network with arts institutions across the Asia-Pacific region.
The meeting also opened discussions on potential faculty exchanges and joint research projects. These opportunities are crucial for enhancing the academic and creative quality of ISI Padangpanjang's faculty, enriching the curriculum, and offering new perspectives through cross-cultural knowledge and experience exchange.

ISI Padangpanjang’s contribution to the festival was also evident in the workshop session, where Theatre Arts lecturer Hendri Jihadul Barkah, along with the students, conducted a workshop on Randai, a traditional Minangkabau performance art.
The workshop presented Randai in a contemporary form, introducing its unique and rich Indonesian cultural elements to all delegations and festival participants.
The workshop received a warm response for successfully showcasing a distinctive aspect of Indonesian culture.
The highlight of ISI Padangpanjang’s participation was their performance of a contemporary Randai inspired by the Minangkabau merantau tradition.
