PADANG, kiprahkita.net - The Siti Nurbaya Festival (FSN) was officially launched as part of Padang City's 355th Anniversary celebrations.
Acting Mayor of Padang, Andree Algamar, inaugurated the festival at the Old City Hall on Friday night (2/8/2024).
Andree mentioned that the 355th anniversary of Padang City adopts the theme "Synergy of Blue Economy and Green Economy," actively involving the community to accommodate the enthusiasm of various groups.
These include community organizations, small and medium enterprises (UMKM), artists, students from high schools, vocational schools, middle schools, and kindergartens throughout Padang City.
"One of the events held is the Siti Nurbaya Festival. Siti Nurbaya is a folk tale from the Minangkabau region. To commemorate and preserve the cultural and artistic values, the Padang City Government is holding the Siti Nurbaya Festival again this year with a different atmosphere," he stated.
He added that through this theme, the 355th Anniversary of Padang City aims to highlight the city's rich history and its commitment to preserving the environment.
"The 9th FSN is expected to stimulate and drive the growth of the UMKM economy. This people's festival should benefit the community," he hoped.
Meanwhile, Assistant II for Economy and Development, Didi Aryadi, said that the Siti Nurbaya Festival, as a People's Festival, aims to enliven Padang City's 355th Anniversary and increase interest and attract tourists to Padang City.
"Making the Siti Nurbaya Festival a promotional medium and enhancing the cultural values passed down to Padang's younger generation, as well as increasing the number of domestic and international tourist visits to Padang City," he hoped.
Didi also detailed that the series of HJK Padang celebrations included various events, starting with the Padang Trail Adventure on July 27.
Following this, the Siti Nurbaya Festival took place on Friday (2/8/2024), and on Saturday (3/8/2024), there were Art Therapy sessions, the Siti Nurbaya exhibition, 3D Hologram art performances, a kindergarten coloring contest, a bajamba eating contest, a crowing rooster contest, and live performance art at the Bagindo Aziz Chan Youth Centre.
On Sunday (4/8/2024), there will be more Art Therapy sessions and the Siti Nurbaya exhibition, 3D Hologram art performances, the Padang Gowes Adventure, a solo singing contest, a fashion show contest, and live performance art, all centered at the Bagindo Aziz Chan Youth Centre.
On Monday (5/8/2024), there will be Art Therapy sessions, the Siti Nurbaya exhibition, 3D Hologram art performances, a Siti Nurbaya film screening, a seminar on the Siti Nurbaya novel, the inauguration of Marah Rusli Street, and a turtle release.
Continuing on Tuesday (6/8/2024), there will be a historical video competition winner presentation, a lesson lecture by BPBD and BMKG, the inauguration of Graha Hasan Basri Durin, the Telong-Telong parade, and the closing of the Siti Nurbaya Festival.
On Wednesday (7/8/2024), there will be a special plenary session for HJK Padang's 355th anniversary, the opening of exhibitions and expos, and an inter-department soccer tournament for the Sumbar Education Department.
On Thursday (8/8/2024), there will be a blood donation drive, exhibitions and expos, the opening of the MTQ, and a grand sermon with Ustadz Muhamad Nur Maulana.
On Friday (9/8/2024), the Masril Payan Library will be inaugurated, followed by visits to the Abu Bakar Jaar tomb, orphanages, and elderly homes. The MTQ will conclude on Saturday (10/8/2024), and the celebrations will end with the Padang Trail Adventure on Sunday (11/8/2024).
During the Siti Nurbaya Festival night, there will be video mapping displays, a mini operetta of Siti Nurbaya, the launch of BNI e-money cards, and band performances to celebrate the 355th Anniversary of Padang City.(kominfpdg)
