PADANG, kiprahkita.net - Kings, sultans, datu, and traditional leaders from across the Nusantara archipelago will gather in the city of Padang for a special event.
This gathering is part of the upcoming Festival Adat Budaya Nusantara (FABN) III, scheduled to take place in West Sumatra from September 4 to 7, 2024.
All activities for FABN III will be centered in Padang. The Padang City Government is currently preparing to host this international event.
"We are, of course, preparing to welcome FABN III, which will be held in West Sumatra," said Edi Hasymi, Assistant I of the Padang City Government, as reported by the Padang Communication and Information Office on Friday (August 16).
The Padang City Government will be fully involved in the festival, especially during the planned gala dinner with the Mayor of Padang on Thursday, September 5, 2024. This event will be held at the Youth Center Building.
"The city tour will also be organized by the Tourism Office, with the participation of Uda and Uni Padang," Edi added.
Assistant I Edi Hasymi is determined to ensure the success of FABN III, particularly since the event will be centered in Padang and is expected to boost the city's economy.
"Hundreds of kings, sultans, datu, and traditional leaders from Nusantara will be present in Padang. The economic activity is expected to surge during those three days," he explained.
FABN III is an initiative of the Nusantara Indigenous Communities (MATRA). The festival aims to preserve cultural heritage and serve as a platform for interaction among royal families and cultural institutions across Indonesia.
The event also seeks to revive ancient traditions and offer alternative cultural entertainment for the public.
"FABN will reintroduce the rich cultural heritage of the Nusantara from the past," Edi emphasized.
In addition to the kings, sultans, datu, and traditional leaders, the event will also be attended by cultural stakeholders, leaders of traditional institutions, and tribal chiefs not only from Indonesia but also from neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Brunei, and Thailand.
During the three-day FABN III in Padang, there will be cultural orations and discussions at the Andalas University Convention Hall.
Additionally, the event will include the inauguration of the West Sumatra Provincial Executive Board of MATRA at the Auditorium of the West Sumatra Governor's Official Residence. (kominfo pdg/charlie)
