PADANG PANJANG, kiprahkita.net - In preparation for the Galanggang Arang 2024 event, the Padang Panjang City Government organized a community clean-up (gotong royong) around the Silaing Atas Train Station on Friday, August 2, 2024.
Hundreds of civil servants (ASN) and temporary daily workers (THL) from the local government participated in the event, led by Acting Mayor Sonny Budaya Putra along with Acting City Secretary Winarno.
Sonny expressed the city government's strong support for Galanggang Arang #8, scheduled for August 6-7 in Padang Panjang.
"We are ready to support this event. It presents an extraordinary opportunity. The presence of Galanggang Arang will enhance Padang Panjang's image as a destination city and serve as a momentum for the city's recovery after the devastating flash floods," said Sonny.
He further emphasized the city's readiness to collaborate to ensure that the valuable heritage assets receive serious attention and are utilized effectively.
"Through collaboration with various parties, we hope the Padang Panjang Train Station can become an attractive and historically significant tourist destination. We invite all Padang Panjang residents to support and ensure the success of this event," he added.
The Padang Panjang Train Station will be one of the venues for Galanggang Arang 2024, featuring a variety of activities, including traditional children's games, workshops, cultural heritage discussions, and cultural film screenings.
This clean-up initiative aims not only to tidy up the area around the station but also to strengthen the spirit of togetherness and community among the ASN and THL within the city government.
