BATUSANGKAR, kiprahkita.net - A total of 22 teams from School Football Clubs (SSB) for ages 15 and 17 across Tanah Datar are set to compete in the Tanah Datar Super League (TDSL) 2024, officially inaugurated by Regent Eka Putra at Gazebo Indojolito Batusangkar.
The event organizer, Pitondri, announced that the TDSL will feature 11 teams in the under-15 category and 11 teams in the under-17 category.
"This year, 11 teams in each category have confirmed their participation in the TDSL. Unfortunately, many teams could not participate due to financial constraints. In the previous event, 16 teams took part," he stated.
Pitondri mentioned that the U15 matches would commence on Friday, following the official opening by the Regent, while the U17 matches are scheduled to begin on Sunday.
"Each age category will be divided into two zones, namely Tanah Datar Zone and Luhak Nan Tuo Zone. The top four teams in each zone, after 58 home and away matches, will compete in the semi-finals and finals to determine the champion," he explained.
Pitondri highlighted that the home and away format helps strengthen the relationships among the participating SSBs and positively impacts the local economy.
He add, this competition fosters camaraderie among players, coaches, and parents. Additionally, local vendors benefit economically from the increased activity during match days.
Regent Eka Putra expressed his appreciation and support for the TDSL 2024. "I extend my appreciation and support for this event and will provide a financial assistance of Rp20 million to aid its execution," said Eka Putra.
He emphasized that the event serves as a platform to discover young football talents.
"Besides fostering camaraderie, this event is a venue for showcasing the talents of our young athletes and identifying potential talents that will bring pride to Tanah Datar," he remarked.
The Regent also urged all participants to maintain security and harmony throughout the competition.
This competition will run for an extended period, so ensure to uphold security, comfort, and unity. Avoid conflicts among participants or SSBs and uphold sportsmanship in every match," he concluded. (prokopim; edi)
