PADANG PANJANG, kiprahkita.net - MTs Thawalib Putra secured a spot in the semifinals of the Inter-Student Soccer Tournament for Junior High Schools in Padang Panjang after a decisive 3-0 victory over SMPN 3 on Wednesday at Khatib Sulaiman Bancalaweh Stadium.
Thawalib Putra sent SMPN 3 home with a strong performance. They scored two goals in the first half and added a third goal due to an own goal by SMP N 3's defense.
The match began with SMPN 3 launching several attacks within the first five minutes, resulting in a goal that was disallowed by the referee due to an offside position.
Thawalib Putra quickly responded, organizing their attacks. The first goal came in the seventh minute of the first half, scored by player number 11, Lutfi Ramadhan.
Lutfi skillfully evaded the defenders and the goalkeeper of SMPN 3, guiding the ball smoothly and slowly into the net with a deft touch from his right foot.
Ten minutes later, in the 17th minute, Thawalib struck again with a brilliant goal from Iqzam Amanda. His shot hit the crossbar and bounced into the goal, leaving the SMPN 3 goalkeeper unable to react.
The third goal came from an own goal by an SMPN 3 player. Thawalib's Putra Riafter took a corner kick that inadvertently deflected off a defender's foot and into their own goal.
