SIMALUNGUN, kiprahkit.net - On August 17, 2024, the entire nation of Indonesia celebrates the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. 

The joy and enthusiasm of the Indonesian people in commemorating this historic day are marked by the ceremonial raising of the Red and White Flag, accompanied by the national anthem, "Indonesia Raya."

In addition to the flag-raising ceremony, Indonesians across the country also organize various competitions to celebrate Independence Day, symbolizing the struggles of the freedom fighters who secured the nation's victory and independence.

In Simalungun Regency, the 79th Independence Day celebration was centered at the City of Perdangan Stadium, Bandar District, Simalungun, North Sumatra, on Saturday (17/8/2024). 

The ceremony was led by Simalungun Regent Radiapoh Hasiholan Sinaga, who served as the ceremony's inspector. The event was conducted with solemnity, and it proceeded in an orderly, safe, and smooth manner.

After the ceremony, in front of several media representatives, Regent Radiapoh Hasiholan Sinaga expressed that this Independence Day is a moment for the Indonesian people to show their gratitude to the Almighty God.

"This moment is a testament of our gratitude to the Almighty God, as we remember the struggles of our forefathers, our fighters, who shed their blood to defend the Republic of Indonesia on the path to independence," said the Regent.

The Regent, as the head of the region, also conveyed his congratulations on the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, with the theme "New Archipelago, Advanced Indonesia."

"Today, the people of Indonesia, particularly the government and citizens of Simalungun Regency, extend their heartfelt congratulations on the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia," the Regent stated.

"And now, we are enjoying the fruits of their efforts together. Let us fill this development by realizing the vision and mission of the Simalungun Regency Government: 'The People Must Prosper," he added.

Furthermore, the Regent called on all citizens and leaders of Simalungun Regency to join hands in continuing the dreams of the fighters who came before us, to preserve the unity of the Republic of Indonesia.

"I believe there are many outstanding sons and daughters of Simalungun. Let us come together, hand in hand, and make this vision a reality through cooperation and hard work, in line with the motto of our ancestors, 'Marharoan Bolon,' to build a more prosperous Simalungun," the Regent concluded.(kominfo sml)
