JAKARTA, kiprahkita.net - Aisyah Murad, a student from SDN 09 Padang Panjang Timur (PPT), delivered an impressive performance in the National Storytelling Competition for elementary school students (SD/MI) held by the National Library of Indonesia at the Orchardz Industri Hotel, Jakarta, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
Among those who witnessed her performance were the Acting Mayor (Pj Wali Kota) Sonny Budaya Putra, Acting City Secretary (Pj Sekda) Winarno, Literacy Ambassador Sri Hidayani, Head of the Education and Culture Office, Nasrul, and several other officials.
"Outstanding," praised Acting Mayor Sonny after Aisyah’s performance. According to him, Aisyah displayed excellent mental fortitude during the competition.
Although she did not win, Aisyah proved she could perform admirably and give her best effort in front of the jury.
Aisyah’s storytelling centered on the tale of Nagari Koto Nan Ampek, captivating the audience with the origin story of this village in West Sumatra.
Her performance was enhanced with props, including five buffaloes and a talempong (a traditional musical instrument), as she confidently commanded the national stage alongside participants from 38 provinces across Indonesia.
Head of the Library Division at the Department of Library and Archives (DPK) Tuti Abdul Rajab, expressed gratitude to Aisyah and all those who supported her throughout the journey.
"Aisyah performed excellently, even giving her best effort. This will serve as a valuable lesson for us moving forward, highlighting areas we need to improve for future national competitions," she concluded. (kominfopdp)
