Bupati Simalungun Lays First Stone for Mini Stadium

 


SIMALUNGUN, kiprahkita.net - Bupati Simalungun Radiapoh Hasiholan Sinaga, officially laid the first stone for the construction of a Mini Stadium in the capital of Simalungun Regency, Pamatang Raya, Kecamatan Raya, North Sumatra, on Friday (September 13, 2024).

In his speech, Sinaga emphasized that the construction of the Mini Stadium reflects the Simalungun Regency Government's support for the advancement of sports in the region. 

"The Mini Stadium is not just a building, but a place that will become part of Simalungun’s history. After 191 years, this is the first stadium owned by the government," said the Bupati.

He expressed hope that the stadium will nurture new athletes from Simalungun Regency. 

"Once built, this stadium will be utilized to its fullest potential for the benefit of the people of Simalungun, particularly for our athletes," Bupati added.

According to the Bupati, the Mini Stadium will also serve as a venue for sports events and provide a platform for discovering new athletic talent from Simalungun.

He further mentioned that the stadium is expected to generate a multiplier effect, boosting the local economy. 

"Additionally, we will establish spaces for MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) here, as this is the capital of Simalungun Regency. We will also collaborate with the banking sector to develop the area," said the Bupati.

He called upon the community, religious leaders, cultural figures, and youth leaders to work together in maintaining and taking care of the stadium.

Earlier, Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Simalungun Regency Hotbinson Damanik, reported that the construction of the Mini Stadium is being funded through the General Allocation Fund (DAU) for the fiscal year 2024. 

Hotbinson stated that the stadium’s construction adheres to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Regulation No. 7 of 2021, featuring dimensions of 105 meters by 68 meters, complete with an underground drainage system beneath the grass.

"This is just the first phase of the stadium's construction, and we hope the next phases can be developed according to the comprehensive plan," he explained.

The stadium will be equipped with a jogging track measuring 434 meters in length and 8.5 meters in width, drainage, perimeter fencing, and a seating capacity of 3,000 spectators.

"This project demonstrates the Simalungun Regency Government's genuine commitment to supporting local athletes," Hotbinson added.

Meanwhile, community leader Afrih Saragih from Kecamatan Raya expressed his gratitude to Bupati Simalungun for his dedication to the development of Simalungun Regency, particularly in Kecamatan Raya.

"We are very proud of the Mini Stadium construction in Simalungun Regency. We sincerely thank Bupati Simalungun for his attention to the region," Afrih stated.

He added, "We see that the Bupati is truly working for the people of Simalungun, especially Raya."

Afrih also requested that the annual Simalungun Regency events be held at the Mini Stadium and that there be special training programs for local athletes. 

"Hopefully, the presence of this Mini Stadium will enhance the achievements of athletes from Simalungun Regency," he concluded. (kominfosml)
