Governor Officially Opens the 6th Provincial-Level Porsadin

PESSEL, kiprahkita.net - Governor of West Sumatra (Sumbar), Mahyeldi Ansharullah, officially opened the 6th Provincial-Level Diniyah Sports and Arts Week (Porsadin) at the Main Stage of the Carocok Beach Parking Lot in Painan, Pesisir Selatan, on Saturday (14/9/2024).

The governor highlighted that Porsadin is a significant platform for Islamic boarding school students to showcase their talents in sports and Islamic arts.

"On behalf of the West Sumatra Provincial Government, we warmly welcome the return of Porsadin this year. This event serves as an important outlet for our young generation, particularly the students, to channel their potential," Mahyeldi said in his speech.

Mahyeldi also praised the collaboration between the Regional Leadership Council of the Diniyah Takmiliyah Communication Forum (DPW FKDT) at the national and provincial levels, the Department of Education, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the Majelis Taklim Contact Body (BKMT), all of whom played an active role in supporting the event.

"Through this event, I hope that the Islamic values embedded in every sport and art competition can be reflected in daily attitudes and behavior. Especially in the arts, I hope it becomes a means of self-expression and a way to draw closer to Allah SWT through spiritually rich works," he added.

Additionally, Mahyeldi responded to requests for increased funding for similar programs in the future.

He assured that the provincial government is ready to provide full support for programs focusing on youth development.

"In the future, we will design this program more thoroughly because we have a deep concern for the younger generation. We are prepared to provide the necessary support to ensure these programs run smoothly and sustainably," he said.

In closing, Mahyeldi reminded Porsadin participants to compete with integrity and uphold sportsmanship and camaraderie, emphasizing that the learning process is more important than merely pursuing victory.

"May this event be a moment for us all to improve ourselves, both in terms of achievement and character. To all participants, I wish you the best of luck in competing," he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Organizing Committee, Zulfira Zaisal, reported that the 6th Provincial-Level Porsadin will be held from September 13 to 15, 2024, in Pesisir Selatan Regency. The event is the result of collaboration between DPW FKDT, the Pesisir Selatan Organizing Committee, and the West Sumatra Ministry of Religious Affairs Office as the supervisor.

"As per the agenda, the 6th Porsadin is being contested by 719 students and officials from 19 regencies and cities in West Sumatra," said Zulfira.

The competitions consist of eight religious arts branches: Tahfiz Juz Amma, Arabic speech, Quran recitation (MTQ), Indonesian speech, Diniyah quiz, Islamic poetry, Murottal wal Imla, and calligraphy.

"We hope that Porsadin serves as a platform to nurture the abilities, talents, and creativity of the young generation, especially the students of Diniyah Takmiliyah schools in West Sumatra.
