PADANG PANJANG, kiprahkita.net - On Friday, September 27, 2024, a group from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), in collaboration with Universitas Andalas (Unand) Padang, embarked on an educational tourism trip to Kubu Gadang Tourism Village, located in Ekor Lubuk, Padang Panjang Timur. The group, led by Mohd Zuwairi, included 40 students.
Upon arriving in the scenic village, Mohd Zuwairi and his group were captivated by the warm hospitality of the local community, as well as the lush environment surrounded by rice fields.
“It's truly amazing. A wonderful experience for me and my group. If given the opportunity, I’d love to return,” he expressed.
During their visit, the group participated in various cultural activities, such as Makan Bajamba (a communal meal), Silek Lanyah (mud martial arts), learning how to make Pupuik (traditional Minang musical instruments), batik-making, and Pacu Upiah (traditional coin race).
Vitania Yulia, a representative from Unand, shared her enthusiasm, stating that she had long been familiar with Kubu Gadang and was eager to organize activities there.
“The activities here are indeed that exciting. We from the Communication Studies department at Unand plan to incorporate this experience into our curriculum,” she said. (kominfopdp)
