Luthfi from West Pasaman Successfully Evacuated from Lebanon

PASBAR, kiprahkita.net - Four Indonesian citizens (WNI) from West Sumatra were successfully evacuated from Lebanon and returned to their hometowns. Among them was Muhammad Luthfi Ahmadi, a resident of Bancah Talang, Jorong Kapa Selatan, Nagari Kapa, Luhak Nan Duo District, West Pasaman Regency, who had been pursuing his education in Lebanon.

The arrival of Muhammad Luthfi Ahmadi and the other three Indonesian citizens was warmly welcomed by the Acting Governor of West Sumatra, Audy Joinaldy, and the Acting Regent of West Pasaman, Risnawanto, along with other stakeholders at Minangkabau International Airport, Padang Pariaman Regency, on Tuesday (October 15).

Muhammad Luthfi Ahmadi was personally picked up by Acting Regent Risnawanto to be escorted back to his hometown. He was then taken to his parents' house by the West Pasaman Regency Government.

Acting Governor Audy Joinaldy, accompanied by Acting Regent Risnawanto, explained that the four Indonesian citizens evacuated from Lebanon were Muhammad Luthfi Ahmadi from West Pasaman, Rina Mardiani from Agam Regency, and her two children, Muhammad Muhahal and Ahmad Muhahal.

"Alhamdulillah, the four WNI from West Sumatra have safely returned to their homeland. They have all been reunited with their families, including one individual from Kapa, who was personally picked up by the regent," Audy stated.

Before arriving in West Sumatra, Audy added, the four Indonesians were accommodated by the West Sumatra Provincial Government at a hotel in Jakarta for a few days after their journey from Lebanon.

Regarding other West Sumatran citizens still in Lebanon, Audy mentioned that there is no further information at this time, and the government is awaiting updates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Luthfi Ahmadi, a student from West Pasaman who was evacuated, had only been studying in Beirut, Lebanon, for eight months. He expressed his desire to return and continue his studies once the situation stabilizes.

"The attack did not reach the campus area, but the university recommended waiting until the situation improves. Once it’s safe, I will make an effort to return to Lebanon," he said.

Luthfi also shared that the evacuation involved 14 individuals, with the process carried out by air due to the ongoing ground invasion of Lebanon by Israel.

He expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian Embassy in Beirut for assisting in the evacuation process of Indonesian citizens.(kominfopsb)
