KAMPAR, kiprahkita.net - Asphalt paving on the Riau-West Sumatra highway section in Tanjung Alai, Kampar Regency, originally scheduled for Monday (23/12/2024), has been delayed.
The postponement was due to the road foundation being unstable when traversed, making it unsuitable for paving.
Afdirman Jufri, PPK 1.4 of the National Road Implementation Agency (BPJN) Riau, explained that the initial plan was to pave one side of the road on Monday. However, a technical inspection revealed that the foundation was not yet stable.
“There are still parts of the foundation that are unstable, so paving cannot proceed yet,” Afdirman stated.
BPJN Riau now aims to start paving on Tuesday (24/12/2024), beginning with one side of the road.
“We have rescheduled paving for December 24. For now, we will begin with paving one side of the road,” he added.
Meanwhile, a traffic control system will remain in effect on Monday (23/12/2024) for the affected road section.
BPJN Riau has coordinated with Kampar Police and the Riau Regional Police Traffic Directorate to ensure smooth traffic flow during the work.
“We have communicated with the Traffic Directorate of Riau Police. Traffic will remain controlled with an alternating flow system as paving will only cover one side of the road,” Afdirman explained.
The repair work on the Riau-West Sumatra highway in Tanjung Alai is part of efforts to improve accessibility and safety for road users.
With the paving set to start on the first side, BPJN Riau hopes the foundation stabilization will be completed promptly to expedite the overall repair process.
The public is urged to remain patient and follow the directions of the officers while the alternating traffic system is in place to ensure smooth and safe travel.(infopublik)
