PADANG PANJANG, kiprahkita.net – The Commander Battalion (Danyon) B Pelopor Brimob Karate Championship Cup IV-2024, held in the city of Padang Panjang, officially concluded on Sunday (December 29, 2024).
The event was closed by the Acting Mayor (Pj Wali Kota), Sonny Budaya Putra, at the Multipurpose Hall of the Sport Center.
The closing ceremony was attended by various parties, including local residents and participants from different regions.
In his remarks, Acting Mayor Sonny praised the success of the championship, which had taken place over the past few days.
He emphasized that the event was not only a competition but also a platform for character building and fostering a spirit of sportsmanship among the younger generation.
“This championship serves as an important avenue for karate athletes to showcase their skills and abilities. Moreover, it is a great opportunity to strengthen bonds of brotherhood among us all,” Sonny stated.
Sonny further expressed hope that the conclusion of this championship would motivate athletes to continue training and improving their skills.
He also aimed to inspire the creation of an accomplished generation in the field of sports, particularly karate.
“The city of Padang Panjang is always ready to host events like this, which bring a significant multiplier effect,” he added.
The Commander Battalion B Pelopor Brimob Karate Championship Cup IV-2024 was attended by hundreds of karate athletes from regions such as West Sumatra, Riau, and Jambi.
The three-day competition, held from December 27–29, 2024, took place at the Sport Center.
Participants competed enthusiastically in various categories, from early childhood to adult levels. In addition to trophies and medals, winners received awards and certificates as recognition for their achievements.
Commander Battalion B Pelopor Brimob, Commissioner Jendrival, S.H., who also organized the event, expressed his gratitude to all parties who participated and supported the smooth execution of the championship.
Commissioner Jendrival hoped that this championship would contribute positively to the development of karate in West Sumatra and Indonesia as a whole.
Also present at the event were the Head of the Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office Nurasrizal, the Head of BPBD Kesbangpol I Putu Venda, team managers, parents of participants, and other related guests. (kominfopdp)
