New Leadership of DPRD Simalungun Sworn In

SIMALUNGUN, kiprahkita.net - The leadership of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of Simalungun Regency for the 2024-2029 term officially took their oaths on Monday (9/12/2024). 

The swearing-in ceremony was led by Erika Sari Emsah Ginting, the Chief Judge of the Simalungun District Court.  

The oath-taking took place during a plenary session held at the DPRD building in Pamatang Raya, North Sumatra. 

The session was presided over by Interim DPRD Chairman Makmur Damanik, accompanied by Interim Deputy Chairman S. Samrin Girsang, and attended by DPRD members.  

Also present were the Deputy Regent of Simalungun, H. Zonny Waldi, representing the Regent, members of Forkopimda, senior officials from the local government, and invited guests.  

The new DPRD leaders sworn in include:  

- S. Samrin Girsang (PDI Perjuangan) as Deputy Chairman 1,  

- Bona Uli Rajaguguk (Gerindra Party) as Deputy Chairman 2, and  

- Jefra Hasudungan Manurung (NasDem Party) as Deputy Chairman 3.  

The swearing-in followed the Governor of North Sumatra's Decree No. 186.44/772/KTPS/2024 regarding the inauguration of DPRD leaders for the 2024-2029 term.  

In his remarks, Deputy Chairman 1, S. Samrin Girsang, expressed gratitude to the public for entrusting the council with their representation and thanked the interim leadership for their service.  

"We are committed to advancing the aspirations of the people in accordance with democratic values and justice. The mandate given by the people is a responsibility that we must fulfill. We also seek support from all parties as a source of motivation to carry out our duties," said Girsang.  

He also encouraged the media to engage constructively, with professionalism and mutual respect, to help improve public services.  

Deputy Regent H. Zonny Waldi congratulated the new leadership and appreciated the interim council leadership for their contributions.  

"We hope the new DPRD leadership will establish a strong consolidation within the council and maintain harmonious relations with the regional government," said Waldi.  

The Deputy Regent emphasized that collaboration between the DPRD and the local government would drive better governance, development, and community service in Simalungun.  

"We trust that the three functions of the DPRD—legislation, budgeting, and oversight—will be carried out effectively. We also look forward to the official appointment of the DPRD Chairperson to ensure smooth collaboration moving forward," Waldi concluded. (kominfosml)
