PADANG PANJANG, kiprahkita.net -The grand finale of the Padang Panjang Festival (PaPa Fest) 2024 lit up the night with vibrant performances on Saturday evening at the Sport Center Multipurpose Hall.
The event marked the highlight of the 234th Anniversary of Padang Panjang, celebrated from December 2 to December 10, 2024.
Amid enthusiastic crowds, thousands of attendees gathered to witness a series of captivating artistic performances.
The event featured stunning appearances by popular artists and musicians, including Adim MF, Kintani, Damonok, Mak Ipin, Tek Lasuh, and Inova Band.
The diverse range of performances turned the night into a celebration of community togetherness, making it a memorable occasion for the city.
In his speech, Acting Mayor (Pj Wali Kota) Sonny Budaya Putra, A.P, M.Si, noted that this was the first time the city’s anniversary events were held at the Sport Center.
He expressed his hope that the venue would continue to be utilized for sports activities and other events to increase visits to Padang Panjang and boost the local economy.
“Since the opening of PaPa Fest on December 2, various activities have been held, including a job fair, affordable food bazaar, MSME product exhibition, Korpri competitions, fashion shows, Mobile Legends tournaments, Dharma Wanita Persatuan gatherings, and more. The events will continue until December 10 with more exciting programs,” Sonny said.
He highlighted the festival’s positive impact on the local economy, particularly through the participation of influencers promoting products at MSME exhibition booths.
“This is a tangible step in advancing and developing MSMEs in Padang Panjang,” he added.
Sonny encouraged the community to unite and collaborate for the city’s progress. “Let us work together in synergy to build the Padang Panjang we love,” he urged.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including Chairman of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Imbral, S.E., Acting City Secretary Dr. Winarno, M.E., Forkopimda members, and other officials.
The grand finale of PaPa Fest 2024 served as a testament to Padang Panjang's vibrant culture and community spirit, setting the stage for continued economic and cultural growth. (*)
