PADANG PANJANG, kiprahkita.net - The Padang Panjang Police (Polres), conducted a Roll Call for Operation Lilin 2024 at the Police Headquarters courtyard on Friday (December 20, 2024).
This operation aims to ensure the safety of the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year (Nataru) celebrations.
During the roll call, Police Chief AKBP Kartyana Widyarso Wardoyo Putro, SIK, MAP, delivered a message from the National Police Chief, emphasizing that the roll call serves as a final check of personnel readiness and the availability of facilities and infrastructure.
It is expected to ensure optimal and synergistic security efforts for a safe and peaceful Nataru celebration.
The police, supported by the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), ministries/agencies, local governments, community partners, and relevant stakeholders, will conduct a centralized operation under the code name Operation Lilin 2024. The operation will run for 10 days, from December 21, 2024, to January 2, 2025.
Operation Lilin 2024 involves a total of 141,605 personnel deployed to 1,852 security posts, 735 service posts, and 207 integrated posts to secure 61,452 objects nationwide. These measures are designed to ensure public safety and comfort during Nataru.
"For Padang Panjang, we are prepared to secure Nataru by deploying 130 personnel," stated AKBP Kartyana.
He added that four security posts have been set up, one within the city and three outside.
"To all personnel, perform your duties with full responsibility, professionalism, and a humane approach, and understand the tasks assigned to each of us," he instructed.
To support a smooth Nataru, Kartyana also called on the public to maintain a safe and secure environment together.
"We also urge the public to check their vehicle conditions before traveling. Accidents in Padang Panjang are often caused by vehicle issues in addition to road conditions," he advised.
Following the roll call, a cross-sectoral meeting for Operation Lilin Singgalang 2024 was held in the auditorium of the local police headquarters.
The roll call was attended by Acting City Secretary Dr. Winarno, M.E., Commander of Military District 0307/Tanah Datar, Lieutenant Colonel Agus Priyo Pujo Sumedi, S.IP., M.Han., Head of the District Attorney's Office Jerniaty, MH, heads of local government agencies, and other relevant invitees.
