Ten Local Government Agencies in Tanah Datar Poor

TANAH DATAR, kiprahkita.net - The Tanah Datar Library and Archives Office, as the Regional Archival Institution (LKD), has awarded outstanding performance recognition to Local Government Agencies or OPD for excellence in archival management.

This award aims to appreciate and motivate OPDs that demonstrate exceptional performance in organizing and maintaining archives.

The Civil Service and Human Resource Management Agency (BKPSDM) secured the top position with a score of 75.25 in the excellent category.

Followed by the Communication and Informatics Office with a score of 68.53 in the good category, and Ali Hanafiah Regional Hospital in third place with a score of 60.30, also in the good category.

Within the Secretariat, the Protocol and Leadership Communication Division was recognized as the best in archival management.

Overall, the internal monitoring by the Tanah Datar Library and Archives Office revealed that one OPD achieved the "excellent" category, 19 OPDs were in the "good" category, 9 OPDs were rated "adequate," and 10 OPDs were categorized as "poor."

Secretary of Tanah Datar Regency Iqbal Ramadi Payana, representing the Regent, highlighted the regional government’s strong commitment to archival management.

"As a reflection of Tanah Datar Regency’s commitment to archiving, it has been included in the fifth vision of the regional vision-mission statement: realizing accountable, effective, and efficient governance," he stated during the Archival Coordination Meeting for regional agencies at the Regent’s Office Hall.

The Secretary emphasized that the regional government, as an archive creator, has a duty to collect, store, and provide access to archives, both dynamic and static, as needed.

However, he noted that current archival practices in some areas still do not fully comply with existing regulations.

"For this reason, we urge heads of departments and secretaries to act as motivators and spearheads, encouraging staff in their respective environments to actively engage in archival management," he added.

He also highlighted improvements within the LKD, which had advanced from a grade "B" to "BB" this year, thanks to collaborative efforts among OPDs.

For OPDs scoring below the "good" category, special attention and support will be provided.

"This year, 20 OPDs have achieved good scores, and one OPD has achieved excellent scores. We aim for even better results next year," Iqbal remarked.

Meanwhile, the Head of the West Sumatra Provincial Library and Archives Office Jumaidi, underscored the importance of archive management for preserving vital documents and maintaining their authenticity for future use.

"Archiving is critical, regardless of the challenges. Documents serve as a guide for future generations and successors in our work," Jumaidi concluded.(kominfotnd)
