157 Kauman Students Pass First-Wave Selection

PADANG PANJANG, kiprahkita.net - More than 200 prospective students participated in the first admission wave selection process at Pesantren Kauman Muhammadiyah Padang Panjang, on Saturday (1/4/2025).

Out of the total applicants, 157 candidates successfully passed the rigorous selection process.

The selection, organized by the New Student Admission Committee, aimed to identify the best candidates ready to pursue education at the pesantren. The process included academic tests, interviews, and assessments of religious knowledge.

The Head of the New Student Admission Committee, Ustadz Rezky, explained that the selection was designed to ensure the candidates' ability to read the Quran and their alignment with the pesantren’s vision.

“We are truly grateful for the enthusiasm of both the prospective students and their parents. This selection does not only assess academic skills but also evaluates their readiness to embrace life at the pesantren,” he stated.

Dr. Derliana, M.A., the Director (Mudir) of Pesantren Kauman Muhammadiyah Padang Panjang, noted a significant increase in the number of applicants during this year's first admission wave compared to the previous year.

“The community’s interest in enrolling their children in our pesantren continues to grow. This year, we received over 200 applicants in the first wave alone. This demonstrates the public’s trust in the education system we offer,” she remarked.

One parent, Salman, shared his experience of traveling from Bengkulu to enroll his child at the pesantren.

“We chose Kauman Muhammadiyah because it is known for its balanced approach to religious and general education. We hope our child will grow to be a virtuous and accomplished individual,” he said.

Pesantren Kauman Muhammadiyah Padang Panjang hopes this new generation of students will become individuals of strong moral character, intelligence, and a positive influence on society. (kominfopdp)
