PADANG, kiprahkita.net - Governor of West Sumatra, Mahyeldi Ansharullah, served as the Inspector of the Ceremony at the 79th Anniversary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) of the Republic of Indonesia, held in the courtyard of the West Sumatra Governor’s Office.
During the event, the Governor emphasized the importance of the Ministry setting a good example in governance.
In his address, the Governor delivered a message from the Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, regarding the celebration of this year’s HAB Kemenag, themed United Community Toward a Golden Indonesia.
The term Hari Amal Bhakti (Day of Devotional Service) reflects the Ministry’s commitment to humility and dedication to the people, the nation, and the state.
This year’s HAB celebration aligns with the mission of Asta Cita, championed by the administration under President and Vice President Prabowo and Gibran.
"The Ministry of Religious Affairs plays a critical role in realizing this mission,” stated the Governor while reading the Minister's speech.
He further emphasized that all religions strongly prohibit social violations and criminal acts. Despite this, such issues persist and remain a pressing challenge for the Ministry of Religious Affairs and religious leaders to address.
“The Ministry and religious figures must also acknowledge the significant global challenges we face today, such as environmental issues, and take active roles in promoting harmonious coexistence with nature,” the Governor added.
Following the ceremony, Governor Mahyeldi underscored that the Ministry of Religious Affairs must set a standard for excellent governance and strict adherence to regulations, particularly in combating corruption within its institutions.
Today, he said, we also recognized and presented awards to the West Sumatra Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and several subordinate units.
:These awards include transparency efforts, public relations achievements, embarkation-debarkation services, and other accolades. We hope Kemenag in West Sumatra can continue to set a positive example,” he concluded.
Attendees at the 79th HAB Kemenag ceremony included West Sumatra DPRD Chair Muhidi, West Sumatra Regional Office Head of Kemenag Mahyudin, West Sumatra Regional Secretary Yozarwardi Usama Putra, Rector of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang Martin Kustati, LKAAM Chair Fauzi Bahar, members of the West Sumatra Forkopimda, state-owned enterprises (BUMN/BUMD), and regional government officials.
