BANDA ACEH, kiprahkita.net – The PJR Unit of the Ditlantas Polda Aceh, along with the Satlantas of Pidie Jaya, Pidie, Aceh Barat, Bireuen, Bener Meriah, and Aceh Tengah Police, worked together in a relay operation to escort the bodies of five victims of a fatal accident in Simpang Beutong Village, Muara Tiga District, Pidie, on Wednesday (1/1/2025).
The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, on the Banda Aceh-Sigli road, km 77, claiming the lives of five individuals, including three passengers in a Toyota Hiace and two motorcyclists.
The victims' bodies, which had been evacuated from the Muara Tiga Health Center to the Tgk Chik Hospital in Tiro, Sigli, for the necessary procedures, were then escorted and transported to their respective homes for burial in areas such as Pidie Jaya, Aceh Tengah, and the Takengon-Bener Meriah border.
The escorting process began at 03:00 WIB, involving personnel from various police stations to ensure the bodies arrived safely and without obstruction until they were handed over to the families.
The escort started from the Pidie Police jurisdiction, continued through Pidie Jaya, Bireuen, Bener Meriah, and Aceh Tengah Police, with one body escorted through the Aceh Barat Police area and handed over to the Gayo Lues Police, according to their respective jurisdictions.
Director of Traffic Police at Polda Aceh, Kombes Pol Muhammad Iqbal Alqudusy, conveyed the commitment of the Aceh Traffic Police to provide the best service to the public, especially in such a tragic situation.
“We ensure that all the bodies are escorted until they safely reach the mourning families. The presence of the police is to provide a sense of security and ease the burden on the victims’ families,” he said.
The escort process went smoothly, with cross-police station coordination as clear evidence of the police's role, not only in maintaining traffic order but also in supporting the community during difficult times.
Kombes Pol M. Iqbal Alqudusy also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, saying, "May they rest in peace, and may the families be granted strength and patience."
This morning, at 10:00 WIB, Kombes Muhammad Iqbal, along with the Traffic Accident Analysis (TAA) Team, will visit the accident site on the Banda Aceh-Medan road km 77 to conduct a crime scene investigation.
The investigation aims to determine the exact cause of the fatal accident, including road conditions, vehicles, and other factors, to provide clarity on the incident that claimed the lives of these five individuals. (infopublik)
