Polres Padang Panjang Highlight Achievements in 2024

PADANG PANJANG, kiprahkita.net – The Padang Panjang Police (Polres) held their 2024 year-end press conference at the 3rd-floor hall of the City Hall on Tuesday (31/12/2024). 

The event highlighted the resolution of dozens of criminal cases throughout the year by the Polres team.  

Police Chief AKBP Kartyana Widyarso Wardoyo Putro, opened the conference by discussing the handling and resolution of cases as well as the department’s achievements from January to December 2024.  

In the Criminal Investigation Unit (Sat Reskrim), Kartyana reported the resolution of 63 cases out of all police reports received. 

Notable cases included 39 thefts, 28 vehicle thefts (curanmor), 24 burglaries (curat), and 25 assault cases.  

“In the Narcotics Unit (Satres Narkoba), we successfully uncovered 26 narcotics abuse cases involving 34 perpetrators. The total confiscated evidence included 196.56 grams of methamphetamine and 95.16 grams of dried marijuana,” he stated.  

Regarding traffic accidents in 2024, there were 75 reported incidents resulting in 10 fatalities, six serious injuries, and 163 minor injuries, with material losses totaling IDR 219,300,000.  

“For traffic violations, there were 1,199 cases, with evidence including 544 driver’s licenses (SIM), 445 vehicle registration certificates (STNK), and 210 vehicles. Most violations involved two-wheeled vehicles, accounting for 975 tickets issued,” he added.  

The problem-solving efforts by community police (Bhabinkamtibmas) successfully resolved 151 cases. These included 94 cases in Padang Panjang Police Precinct, 11 in X Koto, 42 in Batipuh, and four in South Batipuh.  

“Cases resolved through problem-solving included 18 thefts, seven disputes, four threats, 31 misunderstandings, 17 land disputes, three domestic violence cases, three embezzlements, one harassment case, 15 assaults, three property damages, one fish poisoning case, three frauds, 18 fights, 17 debt disputes, one defamation case, one slander case, one inheritance dispute, one mining case, and one adultery case,” explained the Police Chief.  

In addition, routine operations were conducted throughout the year, including centralized and regional operations. 

The department also recognized 78 officers for their outstanding achievements in case resolution, rapid response to public complaints, and high integrity and loyalty in their duties.  

“We also sent 18 personnel for specialized training outside the region to Serpong, Banyu Biru, Soreang, and Mega Mendung, while 14 attended training at the West Sumatra Police School (SPN Polda Sumbar). Public satisfaction with Polres services was rated at 85.89, categorized as good,” Kartyana noted.  

The department detained 93 individuals in 2024, consisting of 85 adult males, three adult females, and five minors.  

Acting Mayor (Pj) Sonny Budaya Putra, expressed his appreciation for the Polres’ success in resolving several cases within their jurisdiction.
